At the end of the year, car production volumes increased in Russia

In November, car factories produced 80.4 thousand cars, which is 25.1 percent more than in the same month of 2023, according to the Rosstat report. From January to November, 679 thousand passenger cars were produced, which is 39.3 percent higher than the same period last year. And if the pace of assembly of cars is growing, the volume of truck production, on the contrary, is slowing down.

Thus, the production of trucks in January-November amounted to 178 thousand units, which is 9.8 percent more than in 11 months of last year. In the last month of autumn, 17.4 thousand trucks rolled off Russian assembly lines, and this is 2.9 percent lower than the result of November 2023.

In 2024, AvtoVAZ will produce more than half a million cars. The Xcite production plan in St. Petersburg has been reduced by 3.5 times. Ministry of Industry and Trade: 2025 will be a difficult year for the Russian auto industry

In November, the Kaluga enterprise “Automotive Technologies” launched production of the second model – the Haval M6 crossover joined the Citroen C5 Aircross, which is assembled from Chinese car kits. Until recently, the latter was produced at the facilities of the Haval plant in the Tula region, but it was decided to move production to Kaluga in order to relieve the plant in Tula. The assembly of H7 hybrid crossovers should start there.

Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade gave a forecast for 2025: the ministry believes that next year for the domestic automobile industry will be more difficult than 2024. There are several reasons: this is the increasing pressure of sanctions, and changes in the macroeconomic climate, due to which consumer activity is declining. According to the plan, 1.3 million passenger cars will be sold in Russia next year. This is less than in January – November of this year.
