Audi is preparing an SUV based on the Q6 Sportback e-tron

The company is developing an extreme SUV based on the Q6 Sportback e-tron battery cross-coupe, which will receive final drives and large wheels. According to the CarBuzz website, a prototype has already been spotted without camouflage, but mass production is not planned. The main change in the chassis is the use of final drives, which significantly increases ground clearance. The purpose of sea trials has not yet been specified.

Audi is working on an extreme version of the Q6 Sportback e-tron. Its main technical innovation will be the introduction of final drives. This solution, usually used on specialized all-terrain vehicles, in combination with enlarged wheels will significantly improve geometric cross-country ability.

In addition to the chassis, changes will also affect the appearance of the crossover. To improve geometric cross-country ability, the Q6 Sportback e-tron will receive new bumpers. The car will also get massive wheel arch extensions, and additional LED lights will be integrated into the front bumper. Install additional light blocks on the roof. There are special eyes for towing. Presumably, the off-road prototype is based on the most powerful modification of the cross-coupe, which has the letter S in its name. Serial production of such an electric car is not planned.

Earlier it became known that in 2025, Audi plans to curtail production of its electric crossover Q8 e-tron. The decision to close the Belgian production site was made by the brand’s management due to its low efficiency. At the moment, there has been no official information about which car will replace the Q8 e-tron.
