A specialist from Za Rulem magazine tested the Dongfeng Mage crossover and highlighted a number of design and ergonomic features of the car. Although overall the test drive left a positive impression, some decisions may seem controversial to buyers.
The main feature of the interior is the complete absence of physical buttons on the center console – its entire area is occupied by a large touchscreen. This means that even adjusting the climate or volume will require access to the touchscreen.
The second point that may surprise the driver is the robotic gearbox selector. According to the authors of the review, it is made in the form of a small element “the size of an eraser.” Although journalists called it convenient, such miniature size will take some getting used to.
The third feature concerns the space in the cabin. Because the Dongfeng Mage’s wheelbase is 50mm shorter than its sister crossover, the Dongfeng Huge, there’s noticeably less knee room for second-row passengers.
In addition, the car has only front-wheel drive; the full version is not offered.
The expert also drew attention to the modest volume of the fuel tank – only 51 liters.
