In the first two months of 2026, 4,491 new Changan cars were registered in Russia. This is 53% less than in the same period last year, when 9,505 cars were registered. The brand’s market share fell from 5.7% to 2.8%. The head of the analytical agency “Avtostat” reported this on his Telegram channel.
“Let me remind you that in 2025, Changan cars were also sold significantly worse than the market. In total, 66.2 thousand Changan cars were sold last year, which is 38% less than in 2024. At the same time, the entire Russian car market decreased by only 15.6%,” the expert noted.
According to him, the main reason for the drop in demand for Changan is the pricing and marketing strategy. Without local assembly and serious support from the manufacturer, it is now unrealistic to maintain attractive prices and favorable credit conditions.
