Auto expert Tselikov: shelling in the UAE and Iran has brought down the import of cars to the Russian Federation

In January 2026, imports from the UAE decreased: a total of 335 vehicles were delivered. And now, against the background of the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, supplies may even temporarily cease. The head of the analytical agency Autostat, Sergei Tselikov, announced this in his Telegram channel.

“Last year, 10.5 thousand passenger cars were imported from the UAE to Russia. Including 2.2 thousand new and 8.3 thousand used. The total volume of imports has tripled compared to 2024 (3.2 thousand units),” the expert said.

Tselikov also analyzed the structure of imports from the UAE. Among new cars imported last year, American RAM took the largest share – 33%. Next come Japanese Toyota (21%) and Mitsubishi (17%).

In the segment of used cars, more than half (51%) were from Toyota. The top 5 also included Nissan (19%), Mitsubishi (7%), Honda (4%) and Lexus (4%). The most popular models in 2025 were Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Toyota Harrier, Nissan Note and Mitsubishi Outlander.

Earlier, Russians were named the cheapest new cars on the market.
