Auto expert Tselikov: Solaris reserves in Russia are coming to an end

Based on the results of the first two months of 2026, sales of Russian-assembled Solaris cars amounted to 3,040 units. This figure is 24% higher than the result of January-February 2025 (2,458 cars). Despite the growth, the brand is only in 10th position in the ranking, and it will be difficult for it to stay there. The head of the analytical agency Autostat, Sergei Tselikov, announced this in his Telegram channel.

“In 2026, not a single car was assembled at the plant in St. Petersburg. And the last cars rolled off the plant’s assembly line in December last year. Let me remind you that from March 2024 to December 2025, just over 70 thousand Solaris cars were assembled in St. Petersburg,” the expert noted.

According to him, total sales of Solaris cars since the beginning of sales reached 52.5 thousand units. Current warehouse stocks (about 17.5 thousand vehicles), if current sales rates are maintained, should be sufficient until the end of 2026. The situation is complicated by the fact that in January the Hyundai-Kia concern lost the opportunity to buy back its enterprises in St. Petersburg. Thus, the prospects of the Solaris project now depend on the decisions of the AGR company, in whose management they are located

Earlier it was reported that Chinese used cars in Russia set a new price record.
