Auto expert Vinogradov listed 5 reliable Japanese cars for 1 million rubles

These right-hand drive cars often have much more charisma and technical features compared to their export counterparts from the Toyota, Honda or Suzuki brands. Up to a million you can buy a Honda N-Box.

“Honda’s K-car is the 2019-2020 N-Box microvan. Despite its modest dimensions, it is quite roomy inside. But only for four: the limitation on passenger capacity is perhaps the main drawback of kei cars. The 660 cc petrol turbo engine produces 64 hp: Japanese class regulations no longer allow it. The gearbox is a variator,” said “Behind the Wheel” expert Alexander Vinogradov.

It has Daihatsu Taft as its companion in the ultra-compact segment. Daihatsu is renowned as the premier designer of Japanese small cars, and the Taft is proof of that. This is an angular and modern microvan, which can be found for a million rubles at the age of four or five years. Versions are available to the buyer with both a naturally-aspirated 52-horsepower engine and a more peppy turbocharged engine developing 64 horsepower. The engine capacity is still the same – 660 cc. see, mandatory for the class, and the transmission is a CVT.

Those who are looking for something close in format to the Toyota Roomy, but at a more attractive price and with less age, should take a closer look at the Suzuki Solio. For 1 million rubles it is possible to buy a car made in 2021. This model is equipped with a larger 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine producing 91 hp. Solio is famous not only for its comfortable interior, but also for its practicality: by transforming the seats, you can get a decent cargo compartment.

For fans of classic hatchbacks, there is a proven option – the Toyota Vitz, which is a direct analogue of the European Yaris. The current generation of the model is actively imported into Russia, and prices remain pleasant. In the range of 1–1.1 million rubles, it is possible to find a car from 2018–2019. The base is a liter three-cylinder engine with a power of 69 hp, but there are also versions with a 1.3 liter engine. 95 hp The gearbox in all cases is a variator.

The selection ends with the Suzuki Jimny. For a million rubles you can become the owner of an SUV manufactured in 2013-2014. We are talking about the Japanese version with a 660 cc engine producing 64 hp. Unlike many competitors, a classic four-speed automatic transmission is installed here. You have to pay for cross-country ability in spartan conditions: the interior is very cramped, and there is practically no trunk.

Earlier it was reported that Omoda C5 and C7 received the right to sell in the Russian Federation under the Jeland brand.
