The new iX3 40 is not inferior to the more expensive version in design and characteristics, but is significantly cheaper due to a smaller battery and power reserve. In the fall, BMW introduced a top-end model with all-wheel drive (463 hp, 108.7 kWh battery), and then announced a more affordable modification. Carscoops reports this.
The manufacturer presented the iX3 40 – a version with rear-wheel drive, an 82.6-kilowatt battery and a 316 hp engine. (500 Nm). With this equipment, the basic electric crossover accelerates to hundreds in 5.9 seconds and reaches 200 km/h.
The power reserve of the iX3 40 on the WLTP cycle is up to 636 kilometers – noticeably less than that of the top version of the iX3 50 (805 km). However, 300 kW fast charging allows you to replenish up to 299 kilometers in 10 minutes. The model supports bidirectional charging, and charging time from 10% to 80% takes only 21 minutes.
In the UK, the iX3 40 will go on sale in the summer at a price of $70,450 (approximately 5.7 million rubles). This is $7,280 (about 584 thousand rubles) cheaper than the iX3 50.
The company said that the standard equipment of the iX3 40 is identical to the older version of the iX3 50 xDrive. However, there may be minor differences in different markets, such as smaller wheels.
