BMW made the electric iX3 cheaper than the petrol X3

BMW North America opens sales of the new iX3 electric crossover. At the same time, the new battery-powered product turned out to be significantly cheaper than the classic X3, equipped with an internal combustion engine.

The new BMW iX3 50 xDrive crossover on the US market costs $62,850 (4.7 million rubles), including a delivery fee of $1,350. For comparison, the petrol BMW X3 M50 xDrive is offered by dealers for $67,850 (5.1 million rubles).

The battery model develops 463 hp. power and 645 Nm of torque, and the fuel modification indicators are 393 hp. and 580 Nm. At the same time, the 6-cylinder BMW accelerates to 97 km/h slightly faster (4.4 seconds) than the electric car.

The pricing is intended to attract American drivers who have recently lost interest in electric vehicles due to the Donald Trump administration’s elimination of the $7,500 federal tax credit program.
