Automobiles of the Kaluga region produced 21 thousand cars per month

Local enterprises returned to work: in January they managed to assemble one and a half times more cars than the entire last year, writes Kaluga 24 with reference to the deputy governor of the Kaluga region Vladimir Popov. In 2024, only 13 thousand cars went from the conveyors.

In January, Kaluga plants shipped industrial products worth 106.6 million rubles, Popov added. The industrial production index reached 120.4 percent by January 2024.

Governor Vladislav Shapsha explains the modest indicator last year by the fact that it was only the debugging of factories. This year, only the ex-enterprise Volkswagen is going to release 110 thousand cars. 300 cars are assembled here a day, insiders reported: these are crossovers of the CHERY TIGGO 4, Tiggo 7 Pro Max and Tiggo 8 Pro Max. And in the second quarter they will launch the assembly of cars under the new Tenet brand – and it will also be Cher.

The plan of the former Peegeot-Citroen plant for 2025 is 25 thousand cars. “PSMA RUS” (now “Automobile Technologies”) is produced by Citroen C5 Aircons and Haval M6, which has moved from the enterprise in the Tula region. Finally, the ex-platform AB Volvo (now under the sign of AMO) is valid: Kaluga Next trucks are produced there, aka Ural NEXT.

In total, there are 30 interconnected enterprises in the region, which work 10 thousand people gathering cars and trucks. The Volkswagen ex-Wolkswagn is designed to produce 225 thousand cars a year, Psma Rus-for 125 thousand cars, Ab Volvo-for 15 thousand.
