Lada is back on the conveyor. AvtoVAZ left vacation

The Russian auto giant on Monday, August 18, completed a corporate vacation. It lasted three weeks – from July 28. This time, Vazovtsy traditionally used for the repair, maintenance and modernization of assembly equipment. The Izhevsk enterprise produces Lada Largus, and the rest of the “Lada” are produced on the main conveyor of Togliatti. The new Lada ISKRA, the assembly of which started in April, will partially be transferred to the capacities of the “Avtozavod St. Petersburg” in September. This was announced at the June PMEF-2025 head of AvtoVAZ Maxim Sokolov.

By the end of the year, about four thousand ISKRA is planned to be released in the northern capital, and twice as much in 2026. The launch of the Sparks will allow the enterprise to withdraw from the “turbulence zone” associated with its low loading and the foggy future.

In 2024, they planned to assemble 25 thousand Xcite cars, but only 16.5 thousand were assembled, and the plan for 2025 was reduced to 6.5 thousand.

At the same time, due to a fall in sales, AvtoVAZ considers the opportunity to switch to a four-day working week. The schedule can be reduced at the end of September. Demand for LADA in January-July of this year, according to Avtostat, fell by almost a quarter to 184 thousand sold cars.
