Summer in Russia traditionally sees price increases, and this year will be no exception. Yuri Blinov, marketing director of the Avilon automobile group, told Motor magazine about this.
“The basic scenario for June-August is a price increase of another 3-5% in the mass market. For certain models, especially in parallel imports and in more expensive segments, the increase can reach up to 8%. Now the market is already living in the logic of a slow rise in prices: experts have recorded a 2-3% increase in prices since the beginning of the year, while the key rate, although reduced to 15%, remains high, and discount programs continue to narrow,” Blinov said.
He emphasized that he does not expect a sharp jump in prices, although if the buyer plans to change the car, it is better not to delay his decision, since buying today will definitely be more profitable than tomorrow.
In March 2026, sales of new passenger cars amounted to 104.3 thousand units, and imports of new cars increased to 33.3 thousand units, indicating that there is no supply shortage at present.
Therefore, in the summer, most likely, not a price shock is expected, but a gradual increase in prices. For the buyer, this usually means that the real cost of the transaction will grow more softly: by about 2-4%, due to the fact that some dealer shares will remain, new programs may appear, and also due to expectations of a further reduction in the key rate, Blinov believes.
