Avilon: in March of this year, new cars will rise in price by up to 35%

March and April 2026 will be marked by another round of price increases for new cars. Ilya Petrov, director of retail sales of the Avilon automobile group, told Motor magazine about this. He warned that the price increase would be sharp and painful.

β€œIn March, we expect an increase in prices for new passenger cars in the range of 3-6% compared to February. Moreover, in January they have already increased by 2-4% compared to December due to an increase in VAT and the next stage of indexation of the recycling fee. As a result, the minimum increase in price for new cars with internal combustion engines in 2026 should have been 6-10%, and for powerful electric and hybrid models not localized in Russia – up to 25-35%,” Petrov warned.

According to him, this time the main driver of the new wave of price increases was the tightening of the rules for calculating recycling fees when importing new foreign cars from the EAEU countries from April 1. It will lead to an additional increase in prices by 5-20% depending on the model, and all at once, without a smooth transition, warned the interlocutor from Avilon.

Earlier it became clear what the ban on BMW supplies from China threatens Russia with.
