AvtoVAZ announced a possible indexation of prices against the background of cost growth

Auto -manufacturer President Maxim Sokolov said that the increase in prices is justified by inflationary factors, however, decisions will be made with an eye on the market. He also noted a dumping from Chinese brands, which affects pricing. The sale of cars below the cost, according to him, interferes with the development of the industry and knocks down landmarks both among manufacturers and from buyers.

AvtoVAZ considers the possibility of increasing the cost of its cars in connection with an increase in the cost of production. According to the President of the company Maxim Sokolov, inflationary processes directly affect production costs, and this is the basis for price adjustment. However, the automaker does not plan to act hastily – decisions will be made taking into account the market situation and competitors’ behavior.

Speaking at the Conference “Digital Industry of Industrial Russia”, Sokolov also affected the topic of dumping from Chinese manufacturers. He noted that at the moment in China there is an anti -dumping investigation caused by the “War of Discounts”. The sale of cars is lower than the cost, Sokolov emphasized, is beneficial to the consumer only in the short term, but undermines the stability of the industry, prevents the accumulation of investments and knocks down strategic guidelines for all market participants.

At the end of May, AvtoVAZ recalled the environmental friendliness of LADA cars, saying that they significantly exceed the requirements of Euro standards. In the corporate telegram channel, “Weave with LADA” it was noted that the brand models provide a decrease in harmful emissions with a margin of at least 50 percent of the standards.
