AvtoVAZ confirmed the 1.8 engine for Niva Sport

The SUV will receive this unit before the end of the year, plus it will have a special version of the Silk Road, which is also officially announced.

AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov confirmed the release of the Niva Sport special version called the Silk Road. Such an SUV was shown in the summer of last year. It was distinguished by a bright orange body, combined interior decoration, a trunk on the roof and other original details. Now it is said about a leather salon, as well as other chairs.

In addition to special versions, Niva Sport will have another engine. By the end of the year, the SUV is promised to equip 1.8 with a motor, while now it is laid only “atmospheric” 1.6 from the Granta Sport, which develops 122 horsepower and 151 nm of torque. The new unit will issue 144 forces, however, so far this is just an assumption.

Previously, the characteristics of LADA ISKRA became known. The model in the back of the sedan will be offered with an atmospheric engine 1.6 from Granta, developing 90 or 106 horsepower. In a less powerful version, the unit will be combined with a five-speed “mechanics”, and in a couple to a 106-horsepower motor will be offered a “six-fly” or variator.
