The Arcfox Alpha S electric car with L3 autopilot will begin pilot trips in Beijing. This was reported by the analytical agency “Avtostat” with reference to the company’s press service.

The Chinese concern BAIC Group has received official permission to operate cars with L3 level autonomous driving on public roads. According to the company’s press service, pilot operation of the Arcfox Alpha S (L3 Edition) model will be launched in some areas of Beijing.

The electric car is equipped with 34 sensors, including three lidars. The autonomous control system is built with full redundancy of critical components. For certification, the car underwent more than 800 thousand kilometers of road tests under conditions typical of China. The autopilot behaves according to the local road situation.

Previously, a parking lot of forgotten Soviet cars was found in a St. Petersburg courtyard.
