According to the magazine, sudden minor breakdowns are most typical for the modern Patriot, while there are practically no complaints about the engine, and many car owners consider the SUV’s suspension to be very durable.
Among the systemic problems of the Patriot noted by the publication are oil leaks in the transmission through the oil seals of the gearbox, transfer case, front axle and rear axle shafts. Coolant leaks through various connections of pipes and hoses are also typical for domestic SUVs.
“The suspension is almost equally often called both indestructible and weak – depending on who drives where and how. But there seem to be no obvious weaknesses in it,” the magazine’s publication notes.
Car owners also complain about burnout of LEDs, malfunctions of door locks and limit switches, clutch slave cylinder, and thermostat. The corrosion resistance of the exhaust system is also low. The handbrake cable, as well as the operation of the media system, also cause criticism.
