Autostat named five cars that Muscovites buy

The structure of the new car market in Moscow differs significantly from all-Russian indicators: the Chinese brand Haval took first place in sales in the capital region based on the results of the first two months, said Sergei Tselikov, general director of the analytical agency Autostat, in his Telegram channel.

“The leader here is Haval, which accounts for 11.6% of the market. In second place is Geely (8.4%), followed by the new Tenet brand (8.1%), which replaces Chery sales. The fourth position belongs to Belgee (7.3%). Togliatti’s Lada closes the top five (7.1%). And then, thanks not to Moscow itself, but to the region,” Tselikov listed.

According to him, in the first two months of 2026, 32.2 thousand new cars were registered in Moscow and the Moscow region. Until 2022, the capital region accounted for 23-24% of registered new cars of the total number of new cars registered in Russia, but then the market in the Moscow region recovered slowly and lost its share. At the moment, the share of car registrations in Moscow and the Moscow region is 20%.
