The longest race of this season will last 6 hours. In the course of previous competitions, the audience saw the aerobatics in the pouring rain, and spectacular accidents, and even the fire of one of the cars. The race on August 16 will certainly be no less exciting. And its main intrigue: will a series of crew victories on Mercedes-AMG be interrupted or last?

In August, two large racing weekends will be held in the suburbs at once. The Moscow Raceway highway will accept the competition of the Russian series of ring racing (the largest and most prestigious racing tournament of the country) on August 16-17 and 23-24. It is expected that in four days more than 150 various racing cars and more than 200 athletes will take part in the races. And in any of these four days, the audience is guaranteed a fascinating sight and a rich entertainment program.

Highways of the NSR RSKG is not only a noticeable sporting event, but also just a great opportunity to take a non -casual summer weekend. After all, with observation of racing from the rostrum, everything is just beginning. Spectators can also take a walk along the starting grille while preparing for the race, get with a tour of the teams, look into the racing machines during this tour and see how mechanics work with them. Think along the highway by a passenger in a supercar. And finally, to feel like a racer, sitting behind the wheel of a racing simulator and controlling the digital copy of the racing car on the virtual track of the Moscow Raceway.

All the information from the raids scheduled to the list to the list of all audience activities is on a special page. We will talk about the main sports intrigue of the weekend. The main stars of Russian endurance races are BR03 prototypes. These machines delight the audience not only with bright design and high speed, but also their origin. The development and production of these prototypes is one of the projects of the development program for Russian motorsport SMP Racing. Accordingly, machines were created by domestic designers, assembled on the basis of SMP Racing in Moscow – and the share of domestic parts and nodes is at least 60%.

They taught to ride this design, without exaggeration, the best riders of the country. In particular, the third season at the wheel of BR03 Vitaly Petrov, the first Russian Formula 1 pilot, is now also holding the post of General Director of SMP Racing.

The joint efforts of engineers, managers and athletes had fruit. Over the two previous seasons, 9 hours of races took place in the framework of the Russian Cup for Endurance – and 8 of them won the crews on the BR03. Without malfunctions, piloting errors and simple bad luck, but at least one of the domestic prototypes (and it usually goes from two to four such cars) each time avoided troubles, participated in the struggle for victory – and most often crossed the finish line first.

However, do not think that the crews on the BR03 had no one to compete with. Carriages on foreign prototypes also come to the start of long races (most often it is the French structure of Ligier JS53) and the modified serial supercars. The latter belong to the GT3 category extremely popular worldwide. On such machines, in particular, they compete in all popular 24-hour races (from Le-Man to Dayton and Dubai), as well as in several prestigious multi-stage series (for example, in DTM). When buying a GT3 car, you can choose from a couple of dozens of models of different brands-in Russia, Mercedes-AMG cars are most popular.

The BR03 crews are equipped with professional riders-those who have been involved in competitions since childhood and for whom motorsport is the main area of activity. But AMG cars are often exhibited to the races of a gentleman-drivers-those who came to the motorsport already in adulthood, at first achieved success in business. However, since crews perform in endurance races, the owner of the racing car always has the opportunity to invite themselves to a couple of quick professional. Including a foreign pilot-for example, on the Mercedes-AMG team Yadro Motorsport, the founder of the team Sergey Stolyarov sometimes acts in the company of Italian Gabriel Puer, the factory racer of the German brand.

And this year, several crews on the Mercedes-AMG GT3 compartment (modified serial car Mercedes-AMG GT) did everything possible to become new leaders in Russian Rounds Endurance. This season, the Russian Cup calendar consists of four races, two have already taken place – and the first were the first German cars at the finish of both. Partly they were helped by weather conditions. For example, the very first race – in May on the Moscow Raceway – almost completely passed along a wet highway. And in these conditions, riders on AMG and other GT3 machines get a noticeable advantage – because their cars have an anti -lock system and traction control system that are not BR03. Pilots on foreign cars can more aggressively inhibit and less accurately with gas at the exit from the turn – while their rivals on the BR03 sometimes had to go literally on tiptoe. Note that Russian prototypes have their advantages – for example, a low mass.

However, with two victories in two races, the crews on Mercedes-AMG do not dominate in the overall standings. On the contrary, the struggle for the title this year is extremely dense. In front of the 6-hour race on the Moscow Raceway on the first line, the crew as part of Alexei Nevos and Maxim Kizilov on the bright orange Mercedes of the Time4race team. But the best of the crews on the BR03 – the same one, which includes Vitaly Petrov – lags behind only 1 point. Also in the group of leaders, the crew of the Iskra team on the only Lamborghini Huracan Peelton, another BR03 of the Lecar private team and the above Sergey Stolyarov. All these athletes, in a favorable situation for them, can become the owners of the title in the season.

At the same time, the race on August 16 may well become decisive. The Russian Cup calendar consists of four stages, three of which are 4-hour races. And the number of credit glasses that are distributed between ten the best crews depends on the duration of the race. Accordingly, on the next Saturday, Moscow Raceway can be scored by such a number of points that rivals will no longer be able to play on the final race (it will be held in October in Grozny).

So, the crews have additional motivation to give all the best and fight to the last. The struggle for high positions can take shape especially intensely, and emotions at the finish can be especially bright. And by the way, it will be possible to see these emotions from close range with your own eyes: the award ceremony will be held on stage – and it is located right in the spectator zone.

And along the course of the race from the main rostrum, the audience will see a pit stop with a change of wheels, refueling and a change of pilots. Plus, do not forget that the race starts at three in the afternoon, and finishes at nine o’clock in the evening. And this means that you can carry out a sunset on the highway and see how powerful cars overcome turns in the light of headlights.

Want to come to the races, but on August 16 it doesn’t work out? Not a problem! Firstly, the races will continue on Sunday, when several races on inexpensive racing cars with many overtaking, clashes and other spectacular episodes will pass. Secondly, on August 23 and 24, the second racing weekend will be held, where it will be possible to look at the competitions of supercars and at the top-end races of the SMP TCR Russia top-end with the participation of the best teams and pilots of the country.
