Billionaire Jeff Bezos prepares a mysterious pickup: first photo

The Reddit user shared a picture of an unknown truck in the suburbs of Los Angeles. An eyewitness said that he did not doubt the electrical origin of the car: when the pickup was unloaded from the tow truck, there were no exhaust sounds. According to unofficial data, the mysterious electric car is the first model of the startup Slate Auto, financed by the founder of Amazon Jeff Bezos.

The pickup in the photo is a running prototype for potential investors of the Slate Auto startup. The targets of Amazon are ambitious: according to preliminary data, the rate will be made on a cheap electric truck at a price of about 25 thousand dollars. Neither Ilon Mask, nor Ford, nor General Motors, were closely achieved: their electric cars are much more expensive.

The truck in the picture is deprived of designer frills: the nasal part somewhat reminiscent of the Rivian truck van, which they wanted to release for Amazon. In general, the cabin looks like inspiration was drawn from Ford Bronco Sport. The charging hatch near the rear lamp, a continuous grille of the front, an unpainted body kit along the perimeter of the body and a small cargo platform – there will be few special accepts of the pickup.

Jeff Bezos is 202 billion dollars, and the founder of Amazon can afford to try his hand at the car business. According to preliminary data, they want to start the assembly in 2026, so a few weeks can remain before the official presentation.
