BMW has begun assembling the new i3 electric car at the Munich plant.

Mass production of the model is planned for the second half of 2026.

Up to this point, the first i3 samples were created partly on the experimental line. Now the cars go through the full cycle – from stamping body parts to final assembly – on the main conveyor belt of the new Munich plant. The purpose of this stage is a thorough check of all logistics processes, equipment and technology development before the start of mass production.

The electric i3 is built on the new Neue Klasse platform. According to preliminary data, the top version of the i3 50 xDrive may receive a 463 hp engine. and a power reserve of more than 650 km.

The official premiere of the model is scheduled for this year, and deliveries to the first customers will begin in 2027.
