In the British county of Nottinghamshire, police discovered a cache of stolen Land Rover cars hidden in the forest. The results of the special operation showed that during the year the criminals acted according to a well-established scheme, choosing this particular brand for theft. Local law enforcement is warning off-road vehicle owners to step up safety measures.
According to police, from February to October 2023, about 40 cases of Land Rover theft were reported in the region. To search for stolen cars, law enforcement officers used various methods: foot patrols of the territory, monitoring using drones, and also actively interacted with the local population through social networks.

As a result of a large-scale search operation, it was possible to recover more than half of the stolen SUVs – 22 vehicles that were carefully camouflaged in forest areas. Although theft rates have dropped significantly, police are advising Land Rover owners to remain vigilant and not leave their vehicles without proper protection.
Last November, a similar incident occurred in Switzerland, where an unusual car cemetery was found in the municipality of Kirchberg. Dozens of vintage cars have been discovered in an abandoned meadow in the commercial area of the canton of St. Gallen. Local authorities planned to identify the owner of the collection of rare cars before their subsequent disposal.
