The grandson of Ferdinand Porsche headed the Volkswagen concern and was the ideological inspirer of the development and launch of mass production of the Bugatti Veyron hypercar. This car became a manifesto of the engineering competencies and technological capabilities of the German concern.
The name Bugatti Veyron FKP Hommage contains the initials of Ferdinand Karl Piëch. The engineer and top manager himself passed away in 2019. The one-off hypercar dedicated to him features the same black and red color scheme as the 2003 Veyron concept.
In the current car, the red is applied to a silver base for depth, while the black is carbon fiber with a clear coat. Inside, there is a center console machined from a single piece of aluminum, and specially designed fabrics are used instead of leather for the interior.
The Bugatti Veyron FKP Hommage is 1.5 times more powerful than the original Veyron and uses the most powerful version of the W16 engine, which develops 1,600 hp. The first version of the Veyron had 1001 hp.
