The Chinese division of Buick introduced the Electra E7 hybrid crossover. This is the third production model in the revived Electra line, which will enter the Chinese market in the first quarter of 2026. Autoreview reports this.
The new product, 4.85 m long, is built on the Xiao Yao platform. The appearance corresponds to modern trends: the car received a blank front panel, two-tier headlights, recessed door handles and an illuminated spoiler. The lidar is installed on the roof to operate the Momenta R6 autonomous driving system.
In the cabin, in addition to the digital panel and large central screen, physical buttons are retained. The infotainment system is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8775P chip. A head-up display with augmented reality elements is also promised.
The crossover is offered in two hybrid versions. The basic one combines a naturally aspirated 1.5 engine (98 hp) with an electric motor (224 hp), develops 180 km/h and weighs 1950 kg. A more powerful version uses a 1.5 turbocharged engine (156 hp) and the same electric motor, accelerates to 210 km/h and weighs 1995 kg. The electric range is up to 210 km according to the CLTC cycle, the total range is up to 1600 km. The car will also receive a proactive suspension that can adapt to the road surface.
