Car repair in Russia rose 2.5 times in two years

The following situation has developed in the country: if earlier Russians rented relatively fresh cars to trad-in and acquired new ones, now many prefer to repair foreign cars of the departed brands instead of transplanting to the new “Chinese”.

In Russia, the need for overhaul of cars is growing: both the number of work and the number of parts that need to be repaired or restored increased. This was also reflected in the time that mechanics have to devote one machine-instead of the previous four hours, they repair it for 10-12 hours. At the same time, the norm is now costs 1900-2000 rubles for locksmith work instead of the previous 1,100-1300 rubles. Finally, the spare parts themselves went up, the storage service of the tires increased in price by almost half, and the clining – by more than 60 percent.

The market participants surveyed by the newspaper note that car owners are increasingly preferring to serve their cars at more budget stations or even try to repair them on their own. “We are observing how the demand for car services and spare parts is reduced,” said Mikhail Martynov, Director General of the Chinese Car service network. – The car service historically earns by the sale of auto parts. The services themselves are very low -hearted. Specific work, for example, repair of generators or repair of starters, rises sharply in price. ”

The statistics for 2024, among other things, include the average age of cars in the country’s park: since 2022, the fleet in Russia has grown up for 4.4 years – the average age of cars is 11 and a half years.
