From now on, Freelander is a separate premium brand, and not the popular mass model of Land Rover. The Chery concern and the Chinese subsidiary of Jaguar Land Rover are behind the degeneration of the model into a brand. The first-born of the new family was the Freelander 8 crossover, the characteristics of which were revealed only after the premiere (the debut itself took place on April 27, but the data was not disclosed then).
The Ministry of Industry of the People’s Republic of China reports that the Freelander 8 is 5185 mm long, 2050 mm wide, and 1898 mm high. The wheelbase size is 3040 mm.
The interior has a three-row layout, and the body capacity is six people. The SUV is capable of towing a trailer equipped with a brake system weighing up to 2000 kg.
The hybrid modification is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine with an output of 156 hp. The engine manufacturer is not specified, but it can be assumed that the internal combustion engine is taken from the Chery line.
Freelander 8 is based on its own iMAX platform, which allows the creation of not only plug-in hybrids, but also pure electric vehicles.
