Citroen turns the C3 Aircross into a combat ship on wheels for the French Navy’s anniversary

This one-off C3 Aircross Marine Nationale has received an aggressive tactical body kit that turns the modest city SUV into something like a combat vehicle, reports Carscoops.

The new concept, created to mark the 400th anniversary of the founding of the French fleet, is radically different from the standard version. The exterior is made in a special livery, stylized as the uniform of French sailors. The body is finished in Storm Blue with a gray roof and red accents. To add an off-road character, there are redesigned bumpers with skid plates, wheel arch extensions and black 17-inch wheels with off-road tires.

Additional equipment for the Citroen C3 Aircross Marine Nationale includes a roof rack designed for naval divers, marine-style fog lights for Morse code transmission, and towing lugs. Decals on the doors and pillars with the symbols of the French Navy complete the look.

The interior is designed to match the exterior: red interior lighting imitates the atmosphere inside a submarine (this light helps the crew maintain a sense of day and night deep underwater). The seats received red and white upholstery with anniversary stripes, and tricolor inserts in the colors of the French flag appeared on the dashboard.

The company hasn’t revealed any technical changes, although the concept is noticeably taller than the standard version. Let us remind you that the serial C3 Aircross is offered with a 1.2 turbo engine (including a mild hybrid) and a fully electric version.

Although this concept will not go into production, it is possible that Citroen will offer an “adventure” package or a set of accessories for off-road tuning in the future. It is expected that similar versions will appear in related models Opel Frontera and Fiat Grizzly.
