Consumer Reports has published a ranking of brands with the most reliable cars

The study conducted by the organization is based on a survey of owners of 380 thousand vehicles. It helps identify brands that are least likely to cause problems to their owners. A scale from 1 to 100 points was used to assess the reliability of automobile brands and models. The higher the score, the more reliable the model or brand is considered.

Japanese brands became the undisputed leaders. Toyota took first place with a score of 66 points. Subaru takes second place with 63 points. Lexus closes the top three (60 points). Also in the top five most reliable were Honda (59 points) and BMW (58 points), which became the only European representative in the top 5.

The main conclusion of the study is simple: if you want a car that will spend more time in your driveway than in the shop, it’s worth taking a closer look at trusted Japanese brands and not chasing the latest technology.

The list of the most reliable car brands also includes Nissan (57 points), Acura (54 points), Buick (51 points), Tesla (50 points), Kia (49 points), Ford (48 points), Hyundai (48 points), Audi (44 points), Mazda (43 points), Volvo (42 points), Volkswagen (42 points), Chevrolet (42 points), Cadillac (41 points), Mercedes-Benz (41 points), Lincoln (40 points), Genesis (33 points), Chrysler (31 points), GMC (31 points), Jeep (28 points), Ram (26 points), Rivian (24 points).
