Dangerous Takata airbags: Stellantis warns owners of 225 thousand cars not to drive

The automaker strongly recommends that car owners immediately contact dealers for free repairs and not operate their cars until it is completed.

The danger is confirmed by tragic figures: in the United States, 28 deaths and at least 400 injuries were recorded due to the explosion of Takata airbags. When triggered, sharp fragments scattered throughout the cabin.

The warning applies to dozens of Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and one Mitsubishi models produced between 2003 and 2016. The list includes Dodge: Ram (pickup trucks, 2003−2010), Durango (2004−2009), Dakota (2005−2011), Magnum (2005−2008), Charger (2006−2015), Challenger (2008−2014), Chrysler: Aspen (2007−2009), 300 (2005−2015), Jeep Wrangler (2007−2016), Mitsubishi Raider.

In total, more than 67 million defective Takata pillows were recalled in the United States. This catastrophic story has already led to the bankruptcy of the Takata company itself, but the consequences for owners of old cars still persist.

It was previously reported that UAZ is testing new diesel models in extreme conditions.
