“Dieselgate” in France: Volkswagen faces trial due to fraud with eco-standards

The information was confirmed by informed sources. The trial is likely to start no earlier than 2027. This was reported by AFP, citing sources.

Volkswagen is accused of deliberately deceiving consumers regarding products that pose a threat to the health of people and animals.

The materials also mention that French automakers Renault and Stellantis will be involved in the proceedings.

Let us recall that the global scandal with underestimation of harmful emissions began in 2025 with revelations in the United States, after which many companies could not avoid a series of multi-billion-dollar fines, and the total payments to Volkswagen exceeded 32 billion euros.

It was previously reported that UAZ is testing new diesel models in extreme conditions.
