According to the traffic police in the Tver region, the new setup scheme is based on a hidden maneuver: when approaching the victim, the attacker sharply brakes with the handbrake. Since the brake lights do not turn on, the driver behind does not see the danger and collides with a fake car, usually a foreign car. Typically, scammers choose quiet streets with low traffic speeds, and the victim is often a car in poor condition.
The pseudo-victim will demand that the issue be resolved on the spot and paid to him. The traffic police remind you: you cannot leave the scene of an accident, you need to call 112 and record the situation in a photo. You can use “mirror” tactics against fake scams: take a photo of the number, the participants and insist on registration with the traffic police – the scammers usually leave immediately.
If the conflict could not be resolved on the spot and no one was injured in the accident, it is necessary, together with the second participant, to go to the nearest traffic police department to register the accident.
