The Skoda Kamiq GT crossover made in China is a close relative and is structurally reminiscent of the Russian-assembled Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Polo. However, the selection of spare parts showed that this car requires other spare parts, since the manufacturer used a special set of components. This conclusion was reached by the author of the blog “Visiting “Uncle Vasya”” on the Drom website.
The wheel seats differ from the sizes of the European Skoda Kamiq, which means that the Chinese-made copy has a different hub assembly.
The brake calipers also have a different geometry, so the car owner purchased the front brake pads using a selection method.
Spark plugs have a longer threaded part, and there are officially no such ones in the manufacturer’s catalogs. This also forced us to select an analogue based on the existing sample.
Considering the size of the spark plugs, we can conclude that when creating the engine, Skoda at least used the original cylinder head for the Chinese market.
It also cannot be ruled out that other Kamiq GT units also have differences, which makes the operation and repair of the Chinese version of the crossover less convenient.
Earlier it became known that sales of the Skoda brand have grown at a record level in the Russian Federation. 96% of all new cars were imported from China.
