The bus, called “Pilgrim,” was made in 2000 by order of the Saratov administration. The development was carried out by the Saratov State Technical University, the manufacturing was carried out by the Saratov Aviation Plant, and the articulation unit was provided by the Trolza trolleybus plant.
The concept turned out to be unusual – a kind of passenger kung was installed on the chassis, to which a separate semi-trailer was connected through a classic bus “accordion”.
There were 22 seats in the interior of the articulated minibus. The maximum speed of the vehicle, which was based on the standard onboard Gazelle GAZ-3302, was 60 km/h.
For a long time, the fate of the only manufactured copy remained unknown. However, recently, as Motor magazine found out, the bus was found and now they plan to restore it.
True, over the years of inactivity, the accordion lost its chassis – apparently, the Gazelle was converted into a regular truck. But the main thing is that the unique body was miraculously preserved.
Sales of new Mazdas and Toyotas have soared in Russia. In Belarus, a new Lixiang can now be bought for 4 million rubles. New Kias have appeared on sale for less than 2 million rubles.
Earlier it became known that enthusiasts managed to preserve the “ninety-ninth” under the name “Amadeo-500”. It is believed that only two of these machines were made.
