The car, built less than two years ago, will be sold at Bonhams auction in the United States. The “White Elephant” was made in memory of the Bugatti Type 41 Royale, of which this particular animal was the mascot. Considered the pinnacle of automotive engineering in the 1920s, the original Type 41 Royale was built in just six examples.
The 2024 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport hypercar, called “Éléphant Blanc” (“White Elephant”), was manufactured by the automaker in a single copy on an individual order. The car is finished in factory Glacier White with a French Racing Blue interior, a combination that is extremely rare. Emblems with a circus elephant standing on its hind legs are embroidered on the headrests of the chairs. An elephant sculpture created by Rembrandt Bugatti (younger brother of car company founder Ettore Bugatti) adorned the hood of the original Bugatti Type 41 Royale.
According to technical data, the exclusive Chiron is no different from its counterparts: it is driven by the famous 8.0-liter W16 engine with four turbines, developing 1,600 hp. The mileage of the hypercar for sale is only 4,425 km.
Taking into account the options, the Chiron Elefant Blanc cost the customer more than $4.1 million. The estimated cost of the hypercar at the auction is $4.5-5 million. Bidding on this lot will be held with restrictions: without online bids and with mandatory preliminary confirmation of the solvency of applicants.
