Exeed will update the design of the RX crossover

The new product was declassified in patent images – they are published by the Chinese Cars portal. The exterior of the premium crossover will be transformed in accordance with the current style of the brand: this car has a plug in place of the radiator grille, and air flows to the engine through a massive air intake in the front bumper, which, in turn, has also changed. The head optics have been completely revised: they have the shape of an elongated triangle and a checkerboard pattern.

In addition to the new “face,” the RX has a different rear in the patent images. At the back of the crossover there is another light and a small spoiler above it (another one crowns the roof); the exhaust system pipes are apparently hidden under the bumper. From the side, the car looks the same; it has retained the retractable door handles and window sections behind the third pillars. But the rims are new and look unusual.

“Chinese cars” note that in its native China, the Exeed RX has three design options: with a frameless radiator grille (this is exactly the crossover sold in Russia), with a trapezoidal “grill” and a hybrid version with a “blind” front part. A patented option can either replace one of the existing ones or replenish the range.

In Russia, the current Exeed RX costs from 4,750,000 to 5,490,000 rubles as of mid-December. In November, the model acquired a new basic Urban package, as a result of which the starting price decreased by 290 thousand rubles. The RX Urban’s equipment list includes ventilated front row seats, a panoramic roof and 20-inch wheels. Under the hood is a 2.0 GDI turbo engine with 197 horsepower and 375 Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed robotic gearbox.

In 2025, Russia is expecting a hybrid Exeed RX with a power reserve of 1.2 thousand kilometers. The RX Hybrid is equipped with a parallel hybrid installation C-DM developed by Chery, which includes a 1.5 internal combustion engine with a capacity of 143 horsepower and two electric motors. At its peak, the system produces 503 horsepower, but its nominal output, which will be indicated in the PTS, is much lower – 305 horsepower.

Whether an RX with a design like the patent images will reach us is still unknown.
