In addition, a newcomer is 60 kilograms lighter and 50 horsepower is more powerful.
Berlinetta Ferrari 296 Speciale is an ideological heir to special models of Challenge Stradale, 430 Scuderia, 458 Speciale and 488 Pista. Compared to 296 GTB, a new supercar is more light than 60 kilograms. Its hybrid installation gives a record for the rear -wheel drive serial Ferrari 880 horsepower, which is 50 “horses” more than that of the source. The acceleration time from scratch to a hundred in 296 Speciale decreased from 2.9 seconds to 2.8, to 200 – from 7.3 to seven exactly. The maximum speed is the same: 330 kilometers per hour.

The three-liter V6 engine received pistons and connecting rods from the F80 super hybrid, as well as a system for preventing detonation combustion, like formula 1 car. Excess metal on the block and crankcase was removed by machining by analogy with the racing 499p engine. To reduce the temperature in the engine compartment, the housing of turbochargers was isolated, as is done in 296 Challenge and F80. And for a more emotional sound, the number of special acoustic channels was doubled and changed their location.
The MGU-K electric motor, clamped between the internal combustion engine and the eight-speed “robot” of DCT, instead of 163 horsepower issues 180. The box itself has acquired a new control program, the head of the transition to the highest gear and reducing the time of switching. At the same time, Berlinett revised aerodynamics, applying decisions from the world of motorsport. For example, the concept of lateral wings in the rear was spied on FXX-K and 296 Challenge.
In addition, 296 Speciale re -scheduled the suspension, presented Multimatic shock absorbers from 296 GT3, titanium springs and added Extra Boost from the SF90 XX Stradale, which briefly increases the return when leaving the turn. The design of Berlinetta had a strong influence by 296 Challenge. The look visually became easier – mainly due to the use of positive and negative space. But the “front line” with a large “mouth” of the air intake, according to the company, threw a symbolic bridge to the design of other models, for example 812 Competizione. All these innovations also affected the price of 296 Speciale – from 407 thousand euros.
