The Ford Performance division showed a motor for racing cars and tuning projects without publication of public roads. The Megazilla 2.0 engine is designed on the basis of the mass “atmospheric” of the Godzilla V8 for heavy pickups and minibuses, but is distinguished by completely different details and the Whipple compressor. The exact characteristics will be revealed closer to the start of sales.

The MEGAZILLA 2.0 engine is based on the atmospheric of the same name, which is sold in the form of a “motor in a box” (CRate Engine) for about a year. The working volume is saved at the level of 7.3 liters, but thanks to the 3.0-liter supercharger, the recoil will increase significantly from the current 623 horsepower and 867 nm of torque.

According to Ford, the capacity will exceed the mark of 1014 horsepower, while a guarantee will operate on the motor two years or 24 thousand miles (39 thousand kilometers). Prices are not declared, but the initial “atmospheric” costs 23 thousand dollars, and the supercharger separately – 10 thousand dollars. Thus, the new power unit is hardly cheaper than 33 thousand dollars.

It is expected that Megazilla 2.0 will be in demand by dragster and creators of racing all -terrain vehicles. But for public roads, the unit is not suitable, since it does not satisfy the economists. For ordinary tuning projects, Ford Performance has prepared Coyote V8 5.0 with the same Whipple supercharger: the return grew to 800 horsepower and 834 Nm with a guarantee and an environmental certificate.

The compressor V8 Coyote will cost about 21-22 thousand dollars, that is, it will not be possible to save on the Shelby GT350 project with a similar approach. In addition, orders for the tuning version of the Ford Mustang from a third-party studio are already accepted, and the engines will appear in the Ford Performance catalog only by the end of the year.
