In a neighboring country, they decided to equate the rates of the utilization fee to Russian, which increased from January 1 of this year. This will inevitably lead to the rise in the cost of “gray” foreign cars imported into Russia through Belarus. According to Frank, prices can increase by 3-15 percent.
Previously, the difference in the rates of the utilization fee allowed the Russians to save: carrying cars through Belarus was cheaper than buying in Russia. Now the difference is leveling, which will lead to a rise in price “to the level of official dealers,” Frank noted.
New foreign cars of the premium segment, which are carried through Belarus, will increase in price by 5-15 percent, the expert predicts. Mass models imitate 3-8 percent.
