According to a dealer holding study, the main outsiders were the Geely, Changan and GAC crossovers.
“The main problem of the Geely Monjaro is that the gearbox often requires repairs even at low mileage. Many car owners complain about shocks when switching and delays in operation. The cost of major repairs can reach significant amounts, which makes this car less attractive. Typically, classic Geely Monjaro automatic machines require serious intervention after running about 100 thousand kilometers, which is significantly lower than competitors,” said Evgeniy Zhitnukhin, operating director of the Fresh automotive marketplace.
As for Changan CS75 Plus, their owners note frequent breakdowns of suspension elements and engine cooling systems. However, the main problem is with the automatic transmission.
Problems arise mainly due to poor oil quality and untimely maintenance. A classic automatic on the Changan CS75 Plus rarely lasts more than 120 thousand kilometers without a significant decrease in efficiency and repair requirements.
Despite its relative youth, the GAC GS8 also suffers from automatic transmission defects. The main complaints are related to unstable operation of the torque converter and increased wear of parts.
Owners of GAC GS8 talk about the need to replace important components of the box approximately every 130-150 thousand kilometers. Regular maintenance helps to slightly increase the service life, but it is almost impossible to avoid capital investments, the expert noted.
The study notes that buying a used Chinese car with a classic automatic carries certain risks. Such options are offered at attractive prices and with a rich range of options, but serious shortcomings associated with the quality of components and frequent repairs make their purchase a difficult step.
For those planning to buy such a car, Fresh recommends contacting an official dealer to be sure of a thorough diagnosis of the car’s technical condition, noted Zhitnukhin.
Earlier it was reported that car repair prices in Russia have risen to a record high.
