GAC sells more cars in Russia than in other countries outside China

At the end of 2024, GAC sold 20,105 cars on the Russian market, which is 6.5 times more than the result of 2023, according to Autostat. The GAC press service, in turn, gives other figures: 19,675 vehicles and an increase of 6.7 times. In total, last year the Chinese company exported more than 90 cars from China, and Russia became the largest foreign market for the brand.

GAC vehicles are officially offered in 74 countries and regions. Hong Kong, Uzbekistan, Colombia, Uruguay, Guatemala and Azerbaijan were added to the number of new markets in 2024. Also over the past year, the company opened six new overseas offices to sell vehicles in Europe, South America and Mexico, and established five central parts warehouses in Mexico, Brazil, Panama and the Middle East.

From official GAC statistics it follows that in Russia the brand’s bestseller in 2024 was the flagship crossover GS8. Sales of the model amounted to 13,403 units, which, according to the press service, made it “the most popular car in the E-SUV (full-size crossover) segment.” In second place in terms of sales volumes is the GAC GS3, which last year sold 4,963 copies. The GAC M8 minivan, with 1,309 units sold, became the most popular premium minivan in Russia and took third place in the brand’s sales structure.

In December, GAC entered the top 10 most popular brands in Russia, taking tenth position. According to Autostat, at the end of the year the brand sold 2,283 cars in our market, showing the largest increase in the top ten – 3.1 times. At the end of the year, GAC became 15th in the brand ranking.
