Despite warnings not to buy gasoline for future use, resellers take the cans and sell them at exorbitant prices, reports the Mash Telegram channel.
In recent weeks, prices for canisters have increased by 20-40%, depending on the volume and material of manufacture. Thus, a five-liter container increased in price from 300 to 500 rubles, and a twenty-liter container reached a cost of 4 thousand rubles. Despite this, the inventory in retail stores is completely exhausted, and canisters can only be purchased from private sellers on online platforms.
The authorities urged drivers not to buy fuel for future use, and gas stations in Moscow and the Moscow region refused to sell gasoline in cans. However, over the past week, the excitement has covered all containers – from compact five-liter to military-grade twenty-liter. Following the canisters, the demand for related products increased: funnels, watering cans, hoses, pumps and even rubber gloves. Some items are pre-ordered with a wait of about a day, and sellers put the shortage in packages directly on display.
Car dealerships recommend that motorists use fuel corrector additives, as cases of AI-92 gasoline being sold under the guise of AI-95 have become more frequent.
