GAZ is exploring the possibility of producing cars in Saudi Arabia

This will be possible with stable demand for the company’s products. This was stated by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov at the exhibition “Innoprom. Saudi Arabia”.

“GAZ has already passed certification of its light commercial vehicles here in the Saudi market. If the cars find their demand, they are also considering the issue of starting large-scale assembly in order to enter both the Saudi market and the markets of neighboring countries,” he said.

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade also noted that another major Russian manufacturer, the KamAZ company, is also showing significant interest in entering the Saudi market.

Thus, successful certification of GAZ may be the first step towards expanding the presence of the Russian automobile industry in the strategically important Middle Eastern direction.

It was previously reported that extreme cold turns Evolute electric vehicles into bricks while driving.
