GAZ showed a GAZelle with a robotic gearbox at the COMVEX exhibition in Moscow

As company representatives told the Motor portal, the decision to launch production will be made based on the reaction of visitors and demand from consumers – if the market needs such a car, GAZ is ready to mass-produce it.

The main feature of the new product is the presence of a manually controlled “robot” designed for drivers with disabilities. This is a simple single-clutch transmission where actuators control gear shifting and clutch release.

The engineers said that setting up these actuators was a difficult task, but they managed to do it.

Apparently, the development was carried out by the engineering center of the Gorky Automobile Plant itself.
