Genesis will release its first ever pickup truck by 2030

Concept sketches obtained by Carscoops indicate that the company is preparing to release a new car. If the project gets the green light, the new Genesis pickup will compete with premium models like the Rivian R1T, Scout Terra, and more traditional options like the GMC Sierra Denali. The realistic timing of a possible premiere is the end of the decade.

The pickup may feature the brand’s signature double-tier LED headlights, a massive closed grille and clean body lines. The design will be made in an elegant rather than utilitarian manner: a minimum of plastic body kit, large alloy wheels and a laconic rear with a through light strip.

Technically, the new product could share a platform with the future Hyundai pickup truck for the North American market. The powertrain is likely to be electric, with both an all-electric version based on E-GMP architecture and an extended range electric vehicle (EREV) system capable of a range of up to 900 km being considered. The power of the Genesis pickup will be at least 400 hp.

The interior promises to be luxurious – with genuine leather, metal inserts and an emphasis on the comfort of rear passengers.

Earlier, Russo-Balt spoke about the transmission of the new crossover.
