Hongqi releases patent images of new convertible

Premium car manufacturer Hongqi, part of the Chinese FAW group, has registered patent images of a convertible based on the H6 model. Despite the appearance of official sketches, the company has not yet made any statements about plans to launch the new version into production.

According to patent images published by the Chinese portal Autohome, the new convertible will retain the main stylistic solutions of the H6 liftback, including the characteristic design of the front and rear of the car. The main distinguishing features of the new modification will be a soft folding roof and exclusive five-spoke wheels of a new design.

The convertible’s technical specifications will likely be inherited from the base H6 model, whose dimensions are 4990x1880x1445 mm with a wheelbase of 2920 mm. The car is offered with two options of two-liter turbocharged engines producing 224 and 252 horsepower, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Earlier it became known that the premium brand Hongqi plans to introduce three new models to the Russian market in 2025. In the first half of the year, the H6 sports liftback and the updated seven-seat HS7 crossover are expected to appear, and by the middle of the year the luxury L1 model, previously presented at motor shows in Shanghai and Paris, will premiere.
