How many more cars Xcite will produce a former Nissan plant

Details about the fate of the Russian brand launched last year found the telegram channel Russian Car. It is alleged that only 1-1.5 thousand machine tools remain at the St. Petersburg enterprise with a stated production plan of 6.5 thousand cars until the end of 2025. That is, there are enough sets for about three months. This information is unofficial – the author of the channel notes that “even many plant workers are not aware of what will happen next.”

Rumors that Cheri is losing interest in production at the St. Petersburg Automobile Plant-the former Nissan site is currently operating under such a sign-they appeared last year. At the beginning of 2025, the Russian car wrote that a large number of Xcite X-Cross 7 and X-Cross 8, which are waiting for shipments in dealerships, accumulated on the territory of the enterprise. At the same time, information appeared that Chery could ship the plant from five to ten thousand machine tools, after which the production of these cars will be curtailed.

In Russia, the XCite crossover producing XCite cars will stop producing the production of the figure of the day: how many cars were produced by the former Russian Nissan plant

According to the adjusted production plan, in 2025 the “Automobile Plant St. Petersburg” will produce only 6.5 thousand cars, which was written by the Vedomosti newspaper. In the 2024th, the enterprise also produced fewer cars than it was planned: the initial plan provided for 25 thousand cars, then the bar was reduced to 20 thousand, and as a result, 16.5 thousand cars left the assembly line.

One of the reasons why the St. Petersburg Automobile Plant in 2025 will produce 2.5 times less cars, there may be low XCite sales-according to Avtostat-Info, a little more than 5 were sold in the country, for the whole vulgar year, 5 thousand of these cars.

The Xcite lineup consists of two crossovers, X-Cross 7 and X-Cross 8, both of them are analogues of the existing models of the “Eastern partner”, whose name in Xcite is not called for obvious reasons (although there is no secret in this). Earlier, on the former Nissan site, they were going to produce FAW crossovers under the Lada brand, but this cooperation turned out to be dead end: only one batch of 170 cars was released, after which the partnership turned off.

The sources of the “Russian car” insist that instead of the “Chinese” at the factory they are ready to produce “imported” Renault cars under the Xcite brand.
