Hyundai Ioniq V looks like a Lamborghini, but has less power than the Elantra

The Hyundai Ioniq V, which debuted in Beijing last month, is designed exclusively for the Chinese market and is fundamentally different from Western Ioniq models. Now, thanks to certification documents, new details have become known. Carscoops reports this.

The most important innovation concerns the motor range. As follows from documents of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technologies (MIIT), the Ioniq V will offer two single-engine versions: 188 hp. (190 PS / 140 kW) and 225 hp. (228 PS / 168 kW).

225 hp engine is familiar from the Ioniq 5 model, while the 188-horsepower version is not offered in the US and Europe. For comparison: even the basic American Elantra in the N Line version produces 201 hp, which is superior to the junior electric motor of the Ioniq V. In the future, the company plans to release a hybrid (with stroke extension) and dual-motor versions. However, a truly powerful N modification has not yet been announced, although it would turn this car into a competitor to the Lamborghini Temerario, matching its daring design.
