In 2025, a record number of used passenger cars were sold in Russia: the market volume amounted to 6.24 million cars, which is 3.3% more than in 2024 and is an absolute record in the entire history of observations since 2007. This was reported by the analytical agency Autostat.
The previous maximum of 6.1 million vehicles was recorded in 2014. In 2024, the 6 million unit mark was surpassed for the second time, and now for the third time, setting a new historical record.
Lada remained the market leader by a wide margin, accounting for about a quarter of all sales – 1.53 million cars. In second place with a result of 624.8 thousand cars is Toyota, occupying 10% of the market. Also, Kia (358.8 thousand) and Hyundai (343.1 thousand) passed the 5% mark of the total volume.
