In China, serial production of luxury hybrid Volvo started

At the manufacturer’s factory in the Chinese Tajou, the assembly of the Volvo XC70 crossover began. This model, promising to become one of the main premieres of 2025 in the class of hybrid SUV, is preparing for the official start of sales. It will be possible to see and order it for the first time at a car dealership in Chendu on August 27.

The sizes of the crossover are impressive: its length is 4,815 millimeters, the width is 1,890 millimeters, the height is 1,650 millimeters, and the distance between the axles is 2,895 millimeters.

The XC70 appearance is designed in the actual style of electrified Volvo models: here is a closed radiator grille, reminiscent of the flagship EX90, and the famous LED daytime running lights of the Torah, and very laconic lines of the body. Engineers paid special attention to aerodynamics: air resistance reduces closed wheels, drowned door handles, and miraculous doors and streamlined mirrors emphasize the sports character.

XC70 is built on a special SMA Super Hybrid Architecture platform, created for complex hybrid systems. The basis is a one and a half -liter turbocharged gasoline engine equipped with a direct fuel injection system. Its maximum power is 120 kilowatts, and the torque reaches 255 Newton meters.

The hybrid system includes as many as three electric motors. The P1 engine with a capacity of 60 kilowatts is responsible for the production of electricity and the engine launch. The P2 engine with a capacity of 107 kilowatts is installed on the front axle and provides the main traffic on the electric protrusion. The P4 motor with a capacity of 156 kilowatts stands on the rear axle and is connected when you need all -wheel drive or additional dynamics. This scheme allows the XC70 to automatically switch between seven various work modes, perfectly adjusting to driving manner and road situation.

Another innovation is a unique three -speed hybrid transmission DHT. Its peculiarity is that the gasoline engine can connect directly to the wheels already at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour. For comparison: in most competitors this occurs only after 60 kilometers per hour. This provides not only a more smooth move, but also significantly more efficient use of fuel.

The range only on the electric protrusion in the XC70 exceeds 200 kilometers, which can be called one of the best indicators for the hybrid. The general margin with a full tank and a charged battery reaches impressive 1,200 kilometers. Fuel consumption is 5.85 liters per 100 kilometers.

It is expected that in China the price of Volvo XC70 starts from about 360 thousand yuan (about 4.1 million rubles). For this money, the buyer will receive not only advanced hybrid technologies, but also a traditionally high level of safety, comfort and quality of the interior decoration for Volvo.
