At the presentation of the new Lada ISKRA, the head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, said that the new measure of support for the automotive industry will work before the end of the month. The top manager recalled: in the past, families with children fell under the criteria for the program of preferential car loan, but then the requirements were tightened. Now AvtoVAZ has proposed restraining the “family car”, the Ministry of Industry and Trade supported it: the government’s decision is being prepared.
Now families with children can get subsidies for the purchase of a car only in the Far East. In other regions, medical workers, education workers, their own participants and their families, as well as disabled people, are subject to criteria for preferential car loans. 36 billion rubles were allocated to the state support of the car industry, and only cars of Russian brands can be bought at a discount – Haval Jolion is excluded from the program.

The basic discount when buying a car under the program of preferential car loan is 20%, for residents of the Far East – 25%. The criteria fall in configuration cheaper than two million rubles with a localization of more than 2000 points in a full weight of less than 3.5 tons. These are AvtoVAZ, UAZ, GAZ, as well as Moskvich 3 in poor versions. The new LADA ISKRA will also be able to sell according to the state program.
In the first quarter of 2025, sales of new cars in Russia fell by a quarter, and in March – almost half. The Ministry of Industry and Trade does not believe that the Family Car program will allow you to break the records of last year, but they expect that the measure will overcome the “difficult period, without stopping the development of the new model AvtoVAZ line.”
